HEIC to JPG

Privacy Policy

The short version: your photos are converted on your own device. They are not uploaded to any server.

Your files never leave your device. When you choose a HEIC photo on this site, it is read by JavaScript running in your own browser and written back out as a JPG on your own device. There is no upload step. We do not receive your photo, we do not store it, and we cannot see it.

What we do not collect from the converter

The converter page itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Our host injects a performance-measurement script into pages by default; we block it with a Content Security Policy, so it is not loaded and does not run.

What any website operator normally sees

This site is served through Cloudflare's network. Like any hosting provider, it necessarily handles standard network information — your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request — in order to deliver the pages to you. We do not run our own visitor analytics or behavioural tracking on top of that.

Advertising — our plan, stated up front

This site is free to use, but hosting it is not free. We intend to add third-party advertising (such as display ads) to this site in the future to cover those costs.

If and when we do, advertising providers may set their own cookies and may collect data such as your IP address, device information, and browsing behaviour, governed by their own privacy policies rather than this one. Advertising networks operate independently of us, and we would not control what they collect.

Two commitments: we will update this policy before any advertising is added, and adding advertising will not change how the converter handles your photos — conversion will remain local to your browser, with no upload.

Email

If you write to us at contact@heicjpg.dev, your message is forwarded to a personal inbox that is checked daily. We keep that correspondence so we can reply. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not share your address with anyone.

Please do not attach photos to your email. We cannot help with a specific file, because we never receive the files you convert.

Children

This site is a general-purpose file tool. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
